LifeHouse Care - Building Bridges to a Better Community.

LifeHouse Care is the Community and Corporate services department of LifeHouse Church and has been a registered charitable organisation since 1994. Resources and support from the Community and Corporate sector have flowed in from various bakeries, supermarkets, butchers and members of the general public. Their generosity and support enables Life House Care to feed hundreds of people per month.

LifeHouse Care is an executive member of the NSW ACT Association of Homeless Persons Services Inc. representing many Northern NSW Crisis Accommodation Services and is also an advocate for many rural Emergency Relief Agencies. It is a member of Australian Christian Churches Care Services, which is a national peak body with vast network capabilities and international aid connections.

It is the spokesperson for the Coffs Harbour Community Drug Action Team. It is the lead agency in the Northern District Care networking services and is involved in many local, and state working parties for the betterment of community living. It has and will continue to host various conferences that educate, empower and network other service agencies for best work practice and better service delivery.

Emotions are the feelings that fuel our reactions to life’s challenges. They can make us soar to the heights of happiness or plunge us to the depth of despair. Sadly many clients assisted by LifeHouse Care suffer from not only social or financial challenges, but are weighted by this modern sickness called depression. While some depression is related to a person’s physical condition, most depression results from a spiritual and psychological cause. Depression is most serious among the divorced, the widowed, the unemployed, the guilty, the lonely and the empty. Yes, depression may at times be fuelled by circumstances far beyond our control and yes; it often, if not always, leads to a sense of hopelessness.

One of the greatest rewards of serving on our local mission field is witnessing renewed hope breaking through the cloud of despair and depression over so many lives. Remember, the opposite of depression is joy. The Bible tells us that joy is a fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22). Therefore, the solution to non-physically caused depression is spiritual in nature. God is the only real source of joy and only He can fill the void of a depressed soul. This is why LifeHouse Care gives joy away for free; we use it in every interview and put it in every parcel.
