What Is Frock Swap?
We are so excited for Coffs Harbour’s first clothing exchange…a phenomena sweeping the cities and we are launching it right here!
How it works…you bring good quality pre-loved clothing, shoes and accessories. Everything you’ve grown out of love with or simply don’t wear anymore. Pre purchase a ticket or buy one at the door, receive ‘credits’ for your items on entry and then you SHOP using your credits as ‘payment’!
Who knows what treasures you will find…walk away with a guilt free new wardrobe knowing you have helped a great cause.
There will be live entertainment and a café with boutique coffee and tasty treats to rest and recharge with your girlfriends.
Cost $10

How It Works...
1. pre purchase ticket (or you can purchase a ticket on the day at the door)
2. go through your wardrobe and find appropriate clothing and accessories (see frequently asked questions for details on this)
3. arrive at the venue and hand in clean items to be assessed by quality control and receive ‘credits’. If you don't have anything to swap you can still purchase items using cash/eftpos on the day.
4. have fun shopping and trying on items while enjoying the live entertainment. Then when you need a rest, make the most of our café with your girlfriends, have a coffee and a snack.
5. proceed to the ‘check out’ and exchange your credits (or cash/eftpos) for your NEW items

Rules
You can bring up to 15 items to be traded.
Items can be dropped off from 8am to 2.30pm.
Swapping times are from 9am to 3pm.
You may only try on 4 items of clothing at a time.  Once you decide that you are definitely going to ‘purchase’ an item, remove the coat hanger and place it over your arm.  You may then select more items.  This makes it fair and ensures everyone gets an equal chance at the items available.

What do I swap?
Appropriate LADIES clothing and accessories. These are basically any items that you aren’t wearing in your wardrobe as long as it is something someone else could enjoy, is in excellent condition and not damaged (defined below).  Bring clothes that are near-new or gently worn  such as that dress that doesn’t fit, those oversized shoes you bought online, the jacket you bought for your trip overseas, and anything else hiding at the back of your wardrobe that isn’t quite you anymore.
Items should not be out dated, unless they are quality vintage pieces.   Remember that the quality of clothing that you bring is what you are hoping to receive in return; basically clothes should not be out-dated or damaged.
Items must be CLEAN (freshly laundered).

Most swap-worthy items fall in 3 categories:
NEW Clothes (with tags)
NEARLY NEW Clothes (worn only once or twice)
GENTLY USED Clothing (worn, but still in very good condition)

What we cannot swap/definition of damaged
Items that are torn, out of date, pilled, stained, faulty (minor faults that are easy to repair are okay E.g. A missing button) or straying too far from perfect.
Underwear, swimwear, tracksuits or anything polarfleece (unless tags are still attached)!
Items you are emotionally still attached too.

What are credits and how many ‘credits’ do I get for my items?

Designer vs regular brand?
Our screening process accesses the quality of each garment/accessory exchanged so those daggy tracksuit pants would not make the cut but our exchange would allow a good basic to be traded for a designer dress… as the beauty is in the eye of the beholder and it’s your job to hunt out that treasured piece.
[back to faq]

Will I find my size and style there?
These events attract ladies of all shapes and sizes and everything from designer brands to good quality basic garments from local stores. Placed side by side in the context of the exchange, a great little frock from a basic label can upstage a designer dress because the exchange rightfully places individual style and fit before branding.
[back to faq]

What if I don’t ‘spend’ all my credits, do I keep them for next time?
The credits are only valid for the day of the event.
If by chance you don’t find something to take in return we suggest you; grab some garments to trade at the next event or get something for a friend who couldn’t attend the event, simply enjoy the extra wardrobe space or take pleasure in knowing your old wears went to a good home.
Ultimately we are aiming to provide an enjoyable event where girls can revamp their wardrobe, have a coffee and snack and basically have fun day out.
If you are significantly disappointed than chat to us and we’ll try our very best to make it up to you- but as we offer a transparent view of our service on this website and throughout the events we do not offer ticket refunds.

If there are clothes left over, what happens to them?
All left over items will be donated to the LifeHouse Bargain Centers, our charity arm in the local area.

What Facilities are Available?
There is ample free parking at the venue, change rooms and toilet facilities and a café with refreshments and a variety of snacks available for purchase.
