Seed-funded in 2023’s One Week For Eternity offering, the LHCA team have achieved exactly what they set out to do – the creation of an environment where families from our community can gather together around a shared love for art and culture, while God-given talent, passion and creative expression are explored and nurtured in a wholesome, supportive and non-competitive environment.
With 617 enrolments in 2024 across 14 types of classes – each offering multiple age-group options – LHCA had an incredible first year! But it provides far more than classes.
Parents (even initially skeptical ones) are marvelling at how their child’s confidence has grown as they flourish in their chosen artistic expression…
Homeschooling families have found joy, community and connection for children and parents alike, bringing welcome reprieve from the pressures of homeschooling…
Adults who would never usually step foot inside a church delighted in watching their children perform at the Showcase Night in front of an audience of 380 people – and realised the roof didn’t cave in on them!
Kids who love the LHCA environment are begging their parents to bring them on Sundays…
People are forging relationships, opening up to prayer, and discovering that this space is for the whole family – and that there are people who care about and value them.
The start of 2025 has brought its challenges though. In the world of dance, "ebbs and flows" refers to “the rhythmic fluctuations and transitions between different states of movement, energy, or intensity, similar to the rise and fall of tides”. It’s the same when it comes to financial capacity in communities struggling with rising costs of living and inflation. We’re going through a rhythmic fluctuation. Parents have phoned, heartbroken because they desperately want to continue, but can’t at this moment in time. We know that enrolments will rise again, but we need to help our LHCA families through this transition.
That’s why as a church, we’re choosing to carry some of the financial burden for a second year – to give LHCA and the families we serve a chance to continue to flourish and thrive.
Pray
For continued God-connections, economic recovery in our community, and for our students, teachers and families to continue in the joy of art and culture, as children of a Mighty Creator God!
