Small sacrifices, HUGE impact! THANK YOU!!!

Our mission spaces are in the midst of a monsoon of God’s blessing, and reaping phenomenal results! Below are just some of our good news stories, and as always we want to invite you to be a part of the incredible things God is doing in our communities and beyond!

LHCA wins $10K of community funding!

Each person who took a moment out of their busy day to read an email and cast a vote, has contributed to this hundred-fold harvest – so if that was you, THANK YOU!

These funds will help expand and equip our Ability&Beyond classes for kids with disabilities (or as we love to say, “different abilities”!), as well as supporting creative arts scholarships, empowering more kids to experience the transformative power of the arts and building a stronger, more connected, and creatively vibrant community for everyone.

Foodbank Australia honours LifeHouse Care

Another incredible opportunity came knocking on our door recently, when our very own LifeHouse Care Multi-Site Pantry Leader, Kellie Small, was invited by Foodbank Australia – the nation’s largest food relief organisation – to speak at a live webinar alongside the national CEO and the state manager. The webinar was so successful that Kellie was then invited to be a guest speaker at Foodbank’s Annual Hunger Report in Sydney!

Hosted by Chris Bath (Drive Host on ABC Radio Sydney) and attended by NSW Premier Chris Minns along with CEOs, community leaders, donors and stakeholders, this is a significant national moment each year, highlighting Australia’s current food insecurity landscape.

Alongside panel members John Robertson (CEO, Foodbank NSW & ACT) and Cara Varian (CEO, NSW Council of Social Service), Kellie shared how Foodbank’s partnership with LifeHouseCare makes an incredible difference in the lives of real people in our community, every day. Our Crisis Care Leader, Tessa Spry, who accompanied Kellie at the conference, reported that Kellie spoke with authenticity, passion and clarity.

This huge honour is an incredible reflection of just how much impact is being made through LifeHouseCare. It’s borne off the back of years and years of constant devotion and sacrificial service and relationship building by staff and volunteers alike, and supported by the generous giving and faithful prayers of the local church.

So a big shout out to Kellie for her outstanding work AND an enormous THANK YOU to everyone who has sown into LifeHouse Care in ways big and small. What an honour to be able to serve our community together under the name of Jesus!

Prayer miracles in Op Shops

Two people embrace; one wears a red-patterned garment and bracelet, the other a green plaid shirt. Background features shelves and decor.

LifeHouse Care Op Shops aren’t just a place to buy quality preloved goods. The real power is in the connections made there, the conversations that are had, and the faith that is ignited… Recently, a volunteer’s wife was diagnosed with a brain aneurysm. This kind of devastating news would be met with sympathy by anyone, anywhere – but when shared with a person willing to step out in faith, sickness can be met with the power of God. And that’s exactly what happened for this volunteer, as their Op Shop leaders offered to pray, and declared that the aneurysm must get smaller and smaller until it disappears.

Next appointment, the doctor told them that the aneurysm had already halved in size. Praise God! His power and faithfulness is real, and He can work miracles through each and every one of us, no matter where we are.

Red Frogs & YWAM team up for Schoolies

Next week, the Maioha family are heading up to the Gold Coast with their team of faithful Red Frogs and the wonderful YWAM team, to minister to school leavers in the chaos of Schoolies. The Red Frogs ministry quite literally saves lives, as they look out for young people who find themselves in danger through drugs, alcohol and vulnerable situations. As well as caring for the physical wellbeing of party-ers, the Frogs also provide fun, safe and healthy spaces to hang out, frequently forming great connections and having eternity-altering conversations with these young people on the brink of adulthood. Together, let’s be praying over the team and those they minister to, and alongside!

‘Tis the season for Under The Tree!

Finally, no missions email would be complete without the opportunity to get involved! So alongside your powerful prayers for our mission partners, we’d love to invite you to take part in Under The Tree - our annual pop up toy shop for local families doing it tough this Christmas… Click here to find out how you can be involved!

Grace, peace and love

from your Missions Team xoxo
