Ways to Serve

Moving closer to the needs of our community together.

Mission begins in everyday life and grows as we serve alongside others.

Mission happens in the everyday moments of our lives — through hospitality, prayer, encouragement, generosity, and sharing the hope of Jesus wherever God has placed us.

It also takes shape through intentional opportunities to serve alongside others. Across LifeHouse projects and partnerships, volunteers help create spaces of care, connection, support, discipleship, and practical compassion in our community.

Strengthening Families

LifeHouse Care Families & The Homeward Project

Help create safe and supportive environments for vulnerable children and families in our community — through providing practical care, ongoing relationship with a family doing it tough, support for foster carers, or opening your home as a foster carer. We don’t all have to do the same thing, but we can all do something.

Ways to serve

  • Open your home to a child or young person as a Foster Carer, providing either emergency, short-term, long-term, or part-time respite care. We’ll connect you to your next steps — accessing more information, connecting with a local agency, and preparing for the journey.

  • Provide consistent practical, prayer, and relational support for a foster care family, as a Support Friend.

  • Provide regular (weekly or fortnightly) one-to-one relational support over the course of one year, as a Family Friend for a mum in the local community.

  • Provide practical help for families on an on-call basis, such as meals, cleaning, or odd jobs, as part of a Resource Team.
