SRE and Love Out Loud Oz

In 2024/25, SRE curriculum producer, Love Out Loud Oz has continued to gain traction in Aussie school scripture lessons – most extensively in Queensland!

Founder Adrian Penny was asked to train scripture teachers across Brisbane, where a significant trend has formed of opt-in rates increasing wherever *LOL is the chosen curriculum. This is a key element to the growth of *SRE / RI – because although public primary schools in most states are legally required to allow 30 minutes a week for Scripture lessons, children only get the benefit of this if their parents ‘opt-in’.

Right here in our LifeHouse Studio, the LOL team create colourful, fun, dynamic and engaging resources that kids love (and beg their parents to let them “do scripture!”) and lessons that are easy for teachers to work with.

Most SRE / RI teachers already work other jobs, so LOL’s video platform captures the kids' attention and opens the door to great discussion, saving teachers hours of prep work. This also makes it a great teaching tool for brand new scripture teachers, to help them learn how to lead a class, ask questions and help kids engage with the Bible in a fun and structured way. And this year’s training tour was so successful, they’ve been asked to run further training in August 2025 at Amplify Conference and in far North Queensland in February 2026!
